TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice awards mark roughly the top 10% of its 7,200+ Ho Chi Minh City listings. We took the 50 highest-ranked winners and cross-checked every one against Google — rating, review count, price band and address — so you can see where 116,703 diners on two platforms agree, and where they don't. No restaurant pays for placement. No listing on this site is sponsored.

Monthly. Scores are re-pulled from both platforms on the first of every month and the whole ranking is rebuilt from scratch — the next run is 1 September 2026. Nothing on this site is hand-placed between runs, and the award order itself only moves when TripAdvisor reissues its Travelers' Choice list.

Mostly, but not always. 44 of the 50 hold 4.5 or higher on both platforms. Five score clearly better with TripAdvisor's traveller crowd than with Google's larger, more local review base — worth knowing before you cross town for one. The divergence index is the gap between the two adjusted scores, centred on the median across all fifty. Positive means Google's larger, more local sample likes it more than TripAdvisor's traveller sample does. Negative means the reverse.

Lagom Café — Belgian Beer & Coffee Lounge, on both readings. It holds TripAdvisor award rank #1 with 5.0 from 1,035 reviews against 4.9 from 1,485 on Google, and it also tops our adjusted consensus score at 4.846. The more interesting number is A Taste Of Saigon — Old Market: TripAdvisor ranks it 34th, but 4.9 from 6,206 Google reviewers is the largest local sample on the list, and it comes third on adjusted score. The award order and the data do not always agree, so we publish both.

We checked every listing against Google in August 2026. One award winner, Benaras Indian Bistro, is currently listed as temporarily closed — it stays on the list with a clear badge. Closures are flagged, not quietly deleted. If an award winner shuts, it stays on the list with the date we checked.

Heavily central. 24 of the 50 sit in the Sài Gòn ward — the District 1 core around Đồng Khởi, the Opera House and the river — and 14 more in Bến Thành, around the market and Bùi Viện. Five are in Xuân Hòa on the District 3 side, and the remaining seven scatter across Tân Định, Chợ Quán and the riverside east.

Four of the fifty are cheap eats at under 200,000₫ a head (about US$7.60). Thirty-one sit in the 200,000–700,000₫ band. Fifteen are 1,000,000₫ and up, and ten of those fifteen are in the Sài Gòn ward. Prices are TripAdvisor's own bands, not our estimate.

Five of the fifty are inside hotels, and the Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera alone accounts for three of them — The Lounge, Saigon Café and Li Bai. That matters because hotel dining rooms collect TripAdvisor reviews from guests who are already in the building: The Lounge holds 1,390 TripAdvisor reviews against 161 on Google. The divergence index on each card shows you which listings lean that way.

Ward names follow Google's current post-2025 administrative naming, which is why they will not match older guidebooks. Two winners return only a generic city-level ward from Google; we place those by street address and say so.
